MSC Cruises is one month away from introducing MSC World Asia, its newest World Class flagship, with the first guest sailing scheduled for December 4, 2026. The ship will begin with seven-night Mediterranean cruises, giving travelers a new option for visiting ports in Italy, France, Spain and Malta while trying a collection of new dining, entertainment and family attractions on board.
In its November 4 announcement, MSC Cruises outlined what will distinguish MSC World Asia, from an 81.3-meter dry slide and a new Pan-Asian food venue to expanded MSC Yacht Club accommodations. The ship will spend its first winter and summer seasons in the Mediterranean before moving to the Southern Caribbean for winter 2027/2028.
Where MSC World Asia Will Sail First
MSC World Asia will begin seven-night Mediterranean itineraries on December 4, 2026. MSC Cruises names Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia for Rome, Naples, Messina and Valletta among the destinations on its Mediterranean program. Those ports combine major cities with access to historic sites and coastal experiences, while the seven-night format gives travelers a week to explore the ship as well as the region.
After its inaugural Mediterranean winter and summer seasons, MSC World Asia is scheduled to reposition to the Southern Caribbean for winter 2027/2028. There, the cruise line plans to offer both seven- and 14-night itineraries. The announcement does not specify the Caribbean ports or individual departure dates.
New Restaurants and Food Experiences
Eataly Makes Its European Cruise Debut
Following its introduction aboard MSC World America, Eataly will come to European cruising on MSC World Asia. The Italian dining venue will feature an ocean-view terrace, live cooking, a Chef's Table and wine experiences. It is one of the options likely to interest travelers who enjoy making meals a central part of their cruise.
A Larger Venchi Chocolate and Gelato Destination
The new 300-square-metre Venchi venue will be the largest in MSC Cruises' fleet and the first on a World Class ship. Combining a chocolate boutique, cafe and gelateria, it will offer 20 gelato flavors, 20 praline varieties and 11 chocolate bars. MSC's exclusive seaside-inspired Crunchy Waves gelato will also be available.
Pan-Asian Street Food and Onboard Brewing
Another new dining concept will bring together three Pan-Asian street food experiences, including sit-down meals and complimentary grab-and-go choices. MSC says the menu will take inspiration from more than five Asian culinary destinations, with an open kitchen and Asian-inspired cocktails.
Across the ship, MSC World Asia will feature more than 40 bars, restaurants, lounges and cafes. New choices include the Clubhouse and Soda Bar, where families can make flavored sodas, The Terraces Bar & Lounge and Coral Cove Bar. Masters of the Sea Pub will also house a full-scale microbrewery, producing three MSC beers developed with Baladin using desalinated seawater: Oceanic Pils, Oceanic India Pale Ale and Oceanic Asian Blanche.
Family Attractions Include a 12-Deck Slide
MSC World Asia's signature thrill attraction will be The Spiral @ Tree of Life, described by the cruise line as the longest dry slide at sea. Measuring 81.3 metres and stretching across 12 decks, it draws visual inspiration from Singapore's Gardens by the Bay. For families and thrill seekers, it adds a distinctive way to move between levels of the ship.
The Harbour, the ship's outdoor family activity area, has been reimagined with Asian-inspired design. Its attractions will include the Play Deck, a two-level Adventure Trail high ropes course, an expanded aquapark and complimentary snacks from The Harbour Bar & Bites.
Cliffhanger, which MSC describes as Europe's first over-water swing at sea, is another headline feature. It will suspend riders 50 metres above the ocean. Together, these attractions give families multiple options for active days without leaving the ship.
Pools, Shows and Spaces to Unwind
MSC World Asia will organize its onboard spaces into seven districts, with design influences inspired by Asian cultures, landscapes and oceans. The Manila Bay Pool is intended as a central location for daytime entertainment and relaxation. The Coral Cove Pool, meanwhile, will have a retractable roof, allowing its use in varying weather conditions, and a water-droplet artwork by Elisabetta Milan inspired by Philippine coral reefs.
Evening programming will include six entertainment productions created for the ship. MSC specifically highlights three new World Theatre shows and a new live-music spectacular in the Panorama Lounge. The announcement does not provide show names or schedules, so passengers will need to consult onboard programming for exact performance details.
MSC Yacht Club Expands Suite Choices
For guests considering the ship's more exclusive accommodation experience, MSC World Asia will offer 144 MSC Yacht Club suites in seven categories, which MSC says is its broadest suite-category selection yet. The lineup includes the new Royal Duplex Suite, intended for families and groups seeking additional room, privacy and Yacht Club privileges.
That variety could be useful for travelers comparing different group sizes or accommodation layouts, although MSC has not supplied pricing for these suites in the announcement.
What to Know Before Booking MSC World Asia
The most immediate decision for travelers is whether to sail during the ship's Mediterranean debut or consider its later Caribbean season. The Mediterranean program begins December 4, 2026, with seven-night voyages and named destinations across Spain, France, Italy and Malta. The Southern Caribbean program follows in winter 2027/2028, with seven- and 14-night options.
Food-focused travelers may be drawn to Eataly, Venchi and the new Asian street food venue. Families may place more value on The Harbour, Cliffhanger and the 12-deck Spiral, while guests seeking more private accommodations can compare the seven MSC Yacht Club suite categories.
MSC Cruises has not included fares, a detailed departure calendar or the specific ports on its Southern Caribbean itineraries in this release. Those details will matter when comparing sailings. What is clear is that MSC World Asia's debut brings a substantial range of new attractions to the line's Mediterranean offering, with Caribbean voyages planned for the following winter season.
