Carnival Cruise Line is expanding its Baltimore cruise schedule for 2028-29, adding Carnival Luminosa alongside Carnival Miracle and opening a broad mix of voyages ranging from six to 14 days.

The newly released schedule extends Baltimore departures through April 2029 and gives Mid-Atlantic cruisers access to itineraries across The Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada and New England, and several regions of the Caribbean. Carnival says the two ships will collectively connect Baltimore with 22 destinations.

The biggest change is the arrival of Carnival Luminosa. The ship is scheduled to begin sailing from Baltimore in November 2028 following a dry dock that Carnival says will bring refreshed spaces and enhancements throughout the vessel.

Carnival Luminosa Will Make Its Baltimore Debut

Carnival Luminosa will offer cruises ranging from seven to 14 days after joining the Baltimore lineup. The schedule provides several options depending on how far travelers want to venture from the Mid-Atlantic homeport.

Seven- and eight-day sailings will focus on The Bahamas, while nine-day itineraries will head to the Eastern Caribbean.

Travelers looking for longer voyages can choose 12- and 14-day Carnival Journeys cruises into the Southern Caribbean. Destinations scheduled across those longer itineraries include Aruba, Curaçao, Barbados, Martinique, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Croix, St. Maarten and St. Thomas.

The addition of Carnival Luminosa is especially notable for cruisers who prefer driving to a regional homeport rather than flying to Florida or another major cruise departure point. With two ships in the Baltimore program, Carnival is offering more itinerary lengths and destination combinations from the Mid-Atlantic.

Carnival Miracle Adds More Baltimore Sailings

Carnival Miracle will continue operating from Baltimore, with newly opened cruises scheduled from September 2028 through April 2029.

The ship's schedule includes sailings to The Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada and New England, the Eastern Caribbean and the Southern Caribbean.

Six- to eight-day itineraries will visit The Bahamas and Bermuda. Nine-day Eastern Caribbean cruises will include calls at Amber Cove and San Juan, along with either St. Maarten or St. Thomas, depending on the itinerary.

Carnival Miracle will also offer eight Carnival Journeys departures lasting 12 to 14 days. These longer voyages will explore the Eastern and Southern Caribbean and may include destinations such as Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, Curaçao, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Tortola.

Canada and New England Cruises Return in Fall 2028

The Baltimore schedule is not limited to warm-weather destinations. Carnival Miracle will operate two eight-day Canada and New England cruises in September 2028.

Those itineraries will include destinations such as Portland, Maine; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Saint John, New Brunswick.

For cruisers interested in seasonal scenery and northern ports, those departures create a very different option from the Bahamas and Caribbean cruises that make up much of the remainder of Carnival's Baltimore program.

Paradise Collection Destinations Are Included

Several itineraries aboard Carnival Luminosa and Carnival Miracle will also visit destinations Carnival groups within its Paradise Collection.

Those destinations include Celebration Key in Grand Bahama, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk and Amber Cove.

The mix means Baltimore cruisers can choose between shorter Bahamas and Bermuda trips, seasonal Canada and New England cruises, and longer Caribbean voyages without changing departure ports.

What the Expanded Baltimore Schedule Means for Cruisers

The addition of Carnival Luminosa significantly broadens Carnival's Baltimore offering for the 2028-29 season. Instead of relying on a single ship, travelers will have two Carnival vessels offering overlapping but varied schedules from the same Mid-Atlantic homeport.

The itinerary range is also unusually broad. Sailings start at six days and extend to 14 days, with options that reach from Bermuda and Atlantic Canada to the Southern Caribbean.

For travelers who want a longer cruise without flying to a southern U.S. port, the Carnival Journeys departures may be among the most noteworthy additions. Those voyages allow both Carnival Luminosa and Carnival Miracle to reach islands farther into the Caribbean while still beginning and ending in Baltimore.

With sailings now open through April 2029, cruisers can begin comparing the two ships, voyage lengths and destination combinations well ahead of the season.
