Carnival Cruise Line is giving travelers a new way to sail aboard Carnival Jubilee without committing to a full week at sea. Beginning in April 2028, the Excel-class ship will introduce regular four- and five-day cruises from Galveston, a first for Carnival Jubilee.
The shorter getaways are part of Carnival’s newly opened 2028/29 Texas schedule, which keeps Carnival Jubilee in Galveston with a mix of four-, five-, six- and eight-day cruises through April 2029.
For travelers, the biggest change is flexibility. Carnival Jubilee has been associated with longer vacations from Texas, but the new schedule adds long-weekend-style cruises to Cozumel along with five-day itineraries combining Cozumel and Progreso.
Four-Day Carnival Jubilee Cruises Visit Cozumel
Carnival Jubilee’s new four-day Western Caribbean cruises will depart Galveston on select Thursdays.
The first is scheduled for April 27, 2028, with the program continuing through April 26, 2029. Each of the four-day itineraries will visit Cozumel, Mexico.
The shorter format gives travelers the opportunity to experience Carnival’s newest Excel-class ship on a vacation requiring fewer days than the ship’s longer Caribbean itineraries.
It also broadens Carnival’s Galveston schedule by placing one of the cruise line’s newer and larger ships into the short-cruise market on a regular basis.
Five-Day Cruises Add Progreso
Travelers wanting an additional port can choose Carnival Jubilee’s new five-day Western Caribbean itineraries.
Those cruises will depart on select Saturdays and Mondays between April 17, 2028, and April 30, 2029.
The five-day voyages will visit both Cozumel and Progreso in Yucatán, giving guests two Mexico destinations during the shorter cruise.
Combined with the four-day schedule, the new itineraries create more departure-day and cruise-length choices for travelers planning a Carnival Jubilee vacation from Texas.
A Six-Day Cruise Will Visit Isla Tropicale
Carnival Jubilee’s 2028/29 schedule is not limited to the new short cruises.
A six-day Western Caribbean sailing will depart Galveston on October 29, 2028. The itinerary includes Cozumel and Isla Tropicale in Roatán.
The call at Isla Tropicale adds one of Carnival’s Paradise Collection exclusive destinations to Jubilee’s schedule, expanding the destination choices available beyond the four- and five-day Mexico itineraries.
Eight-Day Bahamas Cruise Visits Three Destinations
Carnival Jubilee will also venture beyond its typical Western Caribbean routing with an eight-day Bahamas cruise departing April 1, 2028.
The itinerary will visit Celebration Key, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay and Nassau.
The sailing gives Galveston travelers an option built around Bahamas destinations rather than Mexico and the Western Caribbean while still sailing aboard Carnival Jubilee.

Another Eight-Day Sailing Adds Jamaica
A second eight-day cruise departs Galveston on April 9, 2028, this time heading to the Western Caribbean.
The itinerary will visit Cozumel, Isla Tropicale in Roatán and Montego Bay, Jamaica.
That creates another distinctly different option within Jubilee’s 2028 schedule, combining a familiar Mexico call with destinations in Roatán and Jamaica.
Why the Shorter Cruises Matter
The addition of four- and five-day sailings represents the most significant change in Carnival Jubilee’s newly announced Galveston program.
Instead of requiring travelers to choose one of the ship’s longer itineraries, Carnival will regularly offer Jubilee on shorter cruises beginning in spring 2028.
The four-day voyages provide a straightforward Cozumel getaway, while the five-day itineraries add Progreso. Travelers who want more destination variety can move up to the six- or eight-day options.
That creates a broader range of vacation lengths aboard the same ship while allowing Carnival to use Jubilee for both short escapes and longer Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries.
Carnival Jubilee’s New Schedule Runs Through April 2029
The newly opened season covers cruises from April 2028 through April 2029.
Four-day departures begin April 27, 2028, and continue on select Thursdays through April 26, 2029. Five-day sailings operate on select Saturdays and Mondays from April 17, 2028, through April 30, 2029.
The special eight-day Bahamas cruise departs April 1, followed by the eight-day Western Caribbean itinerary on April 9. The six-day Western Caribbean cruise featuring Isla Tropicale departs October 29.
For Texas cruisers, the new schedule makes Carnival Jubilee available across a much wider range of vacation lengths. A traveler can choose a four-day trip centered on Cozumel, add Progreso on a five-day cruise or opt for longer voyages reaching Roatán, Jamaica and the Bahamas.
Most importantly, the change puts Carnival’s newest Excel-class ship into regular short-cruise service from Galveston for the first time, giving travelers who may not have a full week available another way to experience Carnival Jubilee.
