Azamara Cruises is changing its World Cruise approach for 2029 by giving travelers three different ways to make an extended journey around the globe. The newly announced World Cruise Collection includes voyages of 139, 179 and 195 nights, all spanning five continents.

The centerpiece is a 195-night World Cruise aboard Azamara Quest from San Diego to Copenhagen. Azamara says the sailing will be its longest and most geographically expansive World Cruise, visiting 40 countries and territories and including 12 maiden ports.

For travelers who want the extended World Cruise experience but cannot commit to 195 nights, Azamara will also offer a 179-night journey from San Diego to London and a 139-night option from Sydney to Copenhagen.

Azamara's Full World Cruise Will Sail for 195 Nights

The marquee 2029 World Cruise will begin in San Diego and conclude in Copenhagen after 195 nights aboard Azamara Quest.

Across the broader collection, the journey spans five continents, 40 countries and territories and 126 ports. Azamara says the full voyage will provide particularly extensive exploration of the South Pacific and Baltic, which bookend a route stretching around the globe.

The full sailing will also introduce 12 maiden ports for Azamara, adding destinations that the cruise line has not previously visited.

Azamara has not yet released the complete port-by-port itinerary. Those details, along with information about exclusive events, AzAmazing Evenings and additional inclusions, are scheduled to be announced September 23, 2026.

Azamara Is Building the Cruise Around More Time in Port

The defining feature of the 2029 collection is not simply the number of destinations. Azamara is emphasizing how much time guests will actually spend in them.

The cruise line says 65% of the World Cruise will be spent in port, which it describes as more time in destination than any other 2029 World Cruise.

The full 195-night sailing will include 16 overnight stays and 60 late-night port visits. Those longer calls are intended to give guests opportunities to experience destinations beyond the typical daytime cruise visit.

That could mean remaining ashore into the evening during late-night calls or having an additional day to explore destinations where Azamara schedules an overnight stay.

Michael Pawlus, Azamara's head of itinerary planning, said the cruise line deliberately built additional time into each portion of the journey so guests could connect more deeply with the places they visit.

A 179-Night World Cruise Ends in London

The second option also begins in San Diego but concludes in London after 179 nights.

Like the full voyage, the 179-night journey spans five continents and includes all 12 maiden ports.

Guests on this itinerary will receive 16 overnight stays and 52 late nights, retaining much of the destination-focused structure of the complete World Cruise while ending the journey earlier in Europe.

For travelers interested in beginning in North America but unable to commit to the full 195 nights, the London itinerary provides a shorter alternative without reducing the voyage to a conventional cruise length.

Sydney to Copenhagen Offers a 139-Night Option

The shortest of Azamara's three World Cruise choices will begin in Sydney and sail for 139 nights before reaching Copenhagen.

Despite being 56 nights shorter than the complete voyage, the itinerary will still span five continents.

The Sydney-to-Copenhagen journey includes 43 late-night calls, 11 overnight stays and four maiden ports.

By beginning in Australia, the itinerary allows travelers to join the broader global journey after its initial portion from San Diego while continuing through the remaining destinations toward Northern Europe.

Why Three World Cruise Lengths Matter

World Cruises traditionally require travelers to make a substantial commitment of both time and planning. Azamara's 2029 collection keeps all three options firmly within extended-voyage territory while allowing guests to choose among different starting points, ending points and durations.

The 195-night itinerary offers the complete San Diego-to-Copenhagen journey. The 179-night version also starts in San Diego but concludes in London, while the 139-night sailing begins later in Sydney and continues to Copenhagen.

That structure gives travelers flexibility without separating the shorter choices into unrelated itineraries. Each represents a different portion of the larger global journey.

More World Cruise Details Are Coming September 23

Azamara is releasing the 2029 World Cruise Collection in stages.

The complete 195-night World Cruise will open for booking on September 23, 2026. On the same day, Azamara plans to reveal the full itinerary along with additional information about exclusive events, AzAmazing Evenings and cruise inclusions.

The 179-night and 139-night World Cruise journeys will open for booking on October 14, 2026.

Until the full itineraries are released, Azamara has not identified all 126 ports, the 12 maiden calls or the individual destinations receiving overnight and late-night stays.

What is already clear is that Azamara is building its 2029 World Cruise around time ashore as much as geographic reach. With three journeys ranging from 139 to 195 nights and dozens of late-night and overnight calls, travelers will have several ways to experience the cruise line's destination-focused approach on a global scale.
