MSC Cruises is sending one of its newest ships to the Canary Islands for winter 2027-28. MSC Euribia will operate seven-night cruises through the Canary Islands and Madeira, giving travelers a warm-weather alternative during the European winter while visiting multiple Atlantic islands in a single week.
The deployment marks the fourth season of MSC’s winter program in the region and will increase capacity while bringing MSC Euribia’s broader collection of restaurants, entertainment, family facilities and MSC Yacht Club accommodations to the itinerary.
Travelers will also have flexibility when planning their trip, with embarkation available from four ports: Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Funchal, Arrecife and Santa Cruz de La Palma.
MSC Euribia Will Sail Seven-Night Island Itineraries
The winter program combines several of the Canary Islands with Madeira and includes a day at sea for guests to enjoy the ship.
MSC highlights Santa Cruz de Tenerife for its historic streets and waterfront, while Fuerteventura adds beaches and turquoise waters. The itinerary also features Funchal on Madeira, the volcanic landscapes of Lanzarote and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The combination is designed to give travelers a mix of beaches, volcanic scenery, historic towns, local cuisine and cultural attractions during a seven-night cruise.
MSC says the program has proven popular with travelers from Europe and other parts of the world, with the region’s winter climate and multiple embarkation options contributing to its appeal.
Four Embarkation Ports Add Flexibility
Unlike an itinerary that requires every passenger to begin at the same homeport, MSC Euribia’s program will allow guests to embark at Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Funchal, Arrecife or Santa Cruz de La Palma.
That creates additional flexibility for travelers planning flights or combining their cruise with time ashore before or after the sailing.
MSC also says the continued program provides economic benefits throughout the region’s winter season by bringing cruise guests to multiple islands and supporting ports, tourism businesses, tour operators, transportation providers and other local suppliers.
MSC Euribia Brings More Onboard Choices to the Region
The change is significant not only because of where MSC Euribia will sail, but because of the onboard experience the ship brings to the established itinerary.
At the center of MSC Euribia is Galleria Euribia, an indoor promenade covered by an LED dome and surrounded by restaurants, shops and entertainment venues.
The ship offers international and specialty dining along with entertainment and leisure experiences designed for different types of travelers.
Families have dedicated facilities for children and teenagers, pools and one of the largest waterparks in the MSC Cruises fleet.
Guests looking for a more private experience can choose MSC Yacht Club, MSC’s luxury ship-within-a-ship concept offering a higher level of personalized service.
MSC Euribia Uses LNG and Shore Power Connectivity
MSC Euribia is powered by liquefied natural gas and includes several technologies intended to support lower-emission operations.
The ship has shore power connectivity, allowing it to connect to compatible shoreside electrical infrastructure rather than relying on its engines while in port.
Other systems highlighted by MSC include advanced wastewater treatment, comprehensive waste management and energy-efficiency technologies intended to optimize fuel consumption and reduce emissions.
MSC Fantasia Will Take Over Euribia’s Mediterranean Route
Moving MSC Euribia to the Canary Islands will also bring a change to MSC’s Western Mediterranean schedule.
MSC Fantasia will take over Euribia’s current seven-night Western Mediterranean program during winter 2027-28.
The ship will sail roundtrip from Barcelona and visit Marseille, Genoa, Naples, Palermo and La Goulette, along with a day at sea. Embarkation will be available at several ports along the itinerary.
The switch allows MSC to move Euribia to the Canary Islands while maintaining a seven-night winter program in the Western Mediterranean.
When Do MSC Euribia’s Canary Islands Cruises Go on Sale?
Sales for MSC Euribia’s winter 2027-28 Canary Islands and Madeira cruises will open September 28, 2026. MSC Fantasia’s Western Mediterranean sailings are scheduled to go on sale at the same time.
For travelers looking ahead to winter 2027-28, the deployment creates a new opportunity to experience one of MSC’s newer ships on an established seven-night itinerary built around Atlantic island destinations.
Instead of choosing between a destination-focused winter escape and a ship with a larger range of modern onboard amenities, MSC Euribia’s move to the region will combine the two, with seven-night cruises, four embarkation choices and a full day at sea to experience the ship.
