Margaritaville at Sea is bringing its newest and largest ship to Texas. Beachcomber will begin sailing from Galveston in October 2027, offering four- to seven-night cruises with an unusually broad collection of destinations ranging from quick Gulf getaways to Aruba and Curaçao.
The new deployment marks Margaritaville at Sea's arrival in Galveston and gives Texas cruisers another year-round vacation option from one of the country's major cruise gateways. Beachcomber's itineraries are open for booking now.
For travelers, the destination list is the biggest attention-getter. Margaritaville at Sea says Beachcomber will offer its most diverse and far-reaching itinerary lineup from Galveston, including Veracruz, Mexico, which the cruise line describes as a distinctive new addition to the local cruise market.
Beachcomber Will Sail Four- to Seven-Night Cruises
Margaritaville at Sea is building Beachcomber's Galveston schedule around a mix of cruise lengths, allowing travelers to choose between shorter escapes and longer Caribbean vacations.
The four- to seven-night lineup will include destinations across Mexico, the Bahamas, Caribbean and Central America.
Ports announced for the program include Aruba, Key West, Curaçao, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, Belize, Progreso, Roatán, Cozumel, Grand Bahama Island and Bimini, along with Veracruz.
That range gives Galveston travelers the ability to choose different types of vacations aboard the same ship. Some itineraries can focus on destinations closer to the Gulf Coast, while longer cruises can travel deeper into the Caribbean.
Veracruz Adds a Different Mexico Option
One of the most notable destinations in Beachcomber's schedule is Veracruz, Mexico.
Margaritaville at Sea is highlighting Veracruz as a distinctive addition to the Galveston cruise market, expanding the ship's Mexico offerings beyond established destinations such as Cozumel and Progreso.
The broader itinerary collection also gives guests opportunities to travel farther from Texas on selected sailings, with Aruba and Curaçao among the destinations included in the announced program.
Christopher Ivy, chief executive officer of Margaritaville at Sea, said the goal is to give Galveston guests more choices in where their vacations can take them while bringing the cruise line's Margaritaville experience to Texas.
Beachcomber Will Introduce More Than 15 New Experiences
The new itineraries are only one part of Beachcomber's debut. Margaritaville at Sea says its new flagship will feature more than 15 experiences created specifically for the ship.
Those new additions will be joined by several concepts already associated with the cruise line, including 5 o'Clock Somewhere, Hemisphere Dancer, Cheeseburger in Paradise and License to Chill.
Margaritaville at Sea has not detailed all of Beachcomber's new experiences in this announcement, but the company describes the ship as its most expansive onboard experience yet.
Zac Brown Helps Create a New Live Music Venue
One of Beachcomber's signature new spaces will have a particularly strong connection to its Texas homeport.
Same Boat is a live music venue created in collaboration with three-time Grammy Award winner Zac Brown. Margaritaville at Sea describes it as the world's first artist-designed live music venue on the water.
The venue is intended to capture the atmosphere and energy of a Zac Brown Band performance while reflecting Brown's musical influences and style.
Guests will be able to combine live performances with elevated cocktails, creating a dedicated nightlife venue for drinks and music aboard the ship.
Margaritaville at Sea also says Same Boat will feature a specially curated roster of performers selected for the Texas market.
Margaritaville at Sea Expands Into Texas
Beachcomber's arrival represents more than the introduction of another ship to Galveston. It also expands Margaritaville at Sea's cruise product to travelers across Texas and the Central United States.
By sailing from Galveston, the cruise line says Beachcomber will make its vacation experience more accessible to millions of travelers who can reach the Texas homeport.
The deployment gives both first-time Margaritaville at Sea guests and repeat cruisers a new departure point while combining the brand's established onboard concepts with Beachcomber-specific additions.
What Travelers Can Expect in October 2027
Beachcomber is scheduled to begin its Galveston season in October 2027. Margaritaville at Sea has confirmed cruise lengths of four to seven nights and a broad destination lineup, but the announcement does not provide the individual day-by-day itineraries or sailing dates.
Additional details about fares and specific cruises are available as bookings open.
For Galveston cruisers, the arrival of Beachcomber adds another ship to consider while also introducing several destinations and onboard experiences that differentiate the new program. Travelers will be able to choose everything from shorter getaways to longer cruises reaching Aruba and Curaçao, while the ship itself introduces more than 15 new experiences and the Zac Brown-created Same Boat music venue.
When Beachcomber begins sailing in October 2027, Margaritaville at Sea will officially bring its laid-back cruise concept to Texas with its largest ship and its broadest Galveston itinerary collection.
